OVERVIEW
The Klang Valley Mass Rapid Transit (KVMRT) project is envisaged to improve and transform Kuala Lumpur (KL)’s public transportation system and to propel the Greater KL metropolitan area to be on par with that of developed cities.
Comprising 3 lines that cover heavily populated areas, this mammoth project commenced with Line 1 (Sungai Buloh – Kajang) in 2011 and will reach full completion in July 2017. Line 2 (Sungai Buloh-Serdang- Putrajaya) has commenced in late 2016 and is targeted to reach full completion in 2022. Line 3 (Circle Line) is currently under feasibility study.
As with all projects, challenges and impediments have been faced at every stage of the project implementation. Nevertheless, the project developer, Mass Rapid Transit Corporation Sdn Bhd has taken all these in stride and remains on track for timely completion of the project.
This Seminar is essential as it enables the professionals who have been involved in the KVMRT project to share and impart their knowledge to others within the same field or industry.
